Big Day!

Anyone that knows me knows that I'm not the most restful sleeper in the world so at 9:22 pm last night when I received a text from mom...let's just say I didn't sleep that great! I will paraphrase - "We are putting the boat in the water tomorrow and will leave on Friday!" What?! Wait - so this is real? You are really going to sail to the Bahamas?! That's what I was thinking. And yes, this is real. Mom and Don's adventure is really about to begin!

The plans are as follows. Thursday (today) will be spent putting the boat into the water. From what I know, this can be a stressful process and is sometimes quick and other times can be painfully slow. We pray for a quick process and minimal stress. All the final preparations will then be done in order to set sail at daybreak Friday morning. The final destination is Nassau, Bahamas but at least 2 stops will be required. The first planned stop will be at Cat Cay late Friday afternoon. They will then proceed to the Bahamas but will stop again before reaching Nassau. So, the goal will be to make it there by Sunday sometime. Of course they will be taking it slow because their safety is most important.

Apparently Internet connection is hard to come by in the ocean so I will have limited contact with them until they reach Nassau. They have put a safety plan in place so I'm aware of how long to wait and what to do if I needed to contact someone in an emergency. That's not a nice thought but I know someone out there is wondering so rest assured those details have not been left out of their plan.
